SYNOPSIS: It's an against
all odds love affair between Joon-woo and Young-jee. None
of their families approve of their relationship and because
Young-jee doesn't meet their terms, Joon-woo's parents fixed
him up with Ah-mi, a rich and well-known surgeon. Thinking
that Ah-mi is a good catch, Do-kyung, Young-jee's friend,
made his way to her heart. It might have started to be a scheme,
but eventually, Do-kyung fell in love with her sincerely.
REVIEWS: It wasn't a tear-jerking
drama. It just talked about loving a person despite of. What
I liked about the story is when the characters made sacrifices
because of love to finally realize it's worth. They've preferred
to be practical as it is called for. The acting seems to be
lighter. Han Ji-hye's is much noticeable in Summer Scent eventhough
she has lesser scenes compared to Secret Lovers. Song Sun-mi's
facial expression is too blank. Kim Suk-hoon is too simple
with his portrayal, which made Kwon Oh-joong looked better.
Comparing the love angles, I liked Dong-yu and Ah-mi's. Theirs
is juicier and colorful that makes it more exciting. What's
fascinating about their story is that even if they know that
they both have feelings for each other, they don't admit it
because of pride. On the other hand, the Joon-woo and Young-jee
love affair is so common that I already get the flow of the
story. You could even catch it in any Korean movie or series.
Nonetheless, the ending is okay in the sense that they didn't
give out what really happened. It's like you have a say to
it. Eventhough its quite obvious, they still gave you something
to ponder on - sort of.
