SYNOPSIS: Hee-soo's dedication
in her career has influenced Hyuk-joo to realize his passion,
dancing. But her desire to succeed desperately turned her
into a different person. She makes her way in by kissing up
to the management eventhough people get hurt in the process.
To everyone's surprise, Hee-soo broke up with Hyuk-joo and
cling on to Rex, who already has an established name in the
industry.
A lot of people idolize Rex including Sang-mi. When they
met by accident, her opinion on Rex as a person changed. His
arrogance pushed her to aspire to become a dancer to show
him what she is worth. But dancing is not her field. Instead,
she was hired to become a stylist of Hyuk-joo's dance group.
In no time, Hyuk-joo's name started to make a buzz in the
music business. But his fame wasn't complete without Hee-soo.
Eventually, he was able to move on with Sang-mi's help, who
secretly fell in love with him. Just when they are starting
to have a special relationship, Hee-soo came back to Hyuk-joo's
life after being dumped by Rex. Seeing how it hurt Sang-mi,
Rex tried to console her and helped her forget Hyuk-joo. But
before he knows it, he has already fallen in love with her.

All the characters played a big part in the story.
The drama showed the different faces of people who hope to
live up to their dreams. They may have diverse attitude in
life but rest assured, viewers could relate to at least one
of them.
At first, I thought that Ji Hyeon-woo and Kim Ok-bin were
the main characters. But when Hwan Hee and Seo Ji-hye came
into the picture, everyone's became significant to the story
at the same level. Not only did they play your mind to who
deserves to be more successful but the romantic involvement
of the four also keeps on misleading you.
Among the chaotic love connection, I favor the Rex-Sangmi
love team. I find Rex's character challenging and interesting
than Hyuk-joo's. And with Sang-mi's childishness and sweetness,
it spice up their relationship. On the other hand, Hyuk-joo's
has no appeal even if the story basically revolves around
his life. Plus, Hee-soo's uncertainties even made it more
annoying.
I like how it ended but it's not romantic enough to make
an unforgettable exit. It's a little bit disappointing how
they rushed it. It would be better if they have showed more
scenes of Hyuk-joo and Sang-mi as a couple.
I know the story is about music but they showed too much
singing and dancing. They are even played in flashbacks. But
in fairness, there are a lot of good stuff in the OST. I like
the songs especially Rex's Tomorrow. And the upbeat dance
tracks are kind of nice too.

Ever wondered what it takes to be successful
in the entertainment industry or how it would be like once
you became famous? "Over the Rainbow" the new drama
series by MBC gives an insight on today's entertainment industry,
it shows the painstaking work it takes to become a popular
singer, the intrigues and betrayals arising from constant
meetings and partings, and the heartbreaking love that can
bloom amidst all that.
The series not only shows today's youthful passion and ambition
in achieving their dreams but also the reality that life sometimes
doesn't always turn out the way you plan it to, nevertheless
things always manage to "happen for a reason and for
the best".
As a bonus there are upbeat, funky and modern break-dancing
moves which I found to be quite entertaining to watch. What
kept me intrigued with this series also was the love triangle
which occurs between Hyuk Joo, Hee Soo, Rex and Sang Mi. Debuting
his acting career Hwan Hee also known as Fany from Fly to
the Sky played Rex in this series and I must compliment him
on his performance. He played out his character as an arrogant/spoilt
singer very well.
Anyone wanting to watch a series for "good eye candy"
factor I recommend you watch this series not only are the
main guys "drool worthy" (especially Fany, whom
I found every time he smiled my heart melted) the girls who
starred in this series (Kim Ok Bin as Hee Soo and Seo Ji-Hye
as Sang Mi) made it all the more interesting to watch as well.
Over the Rainbow OST has two good tracks one sung by Hwan
Hee - Tomorrow (which is the theme song) and the other is
by Ji Hyun Woo - One Eye Wish.
