STORYLINE: Getting beat
up by the criminals is the least of Jang-soo's worries.
Jang-soo's dedication to his work as a policeman has jeopardized
his relationship to his wife, So-young, and two children.
After years of trying to understand him, So-young decided
to give up on her hope that he would eventually fix his priorities
straight. Jang-soo was caught off guard when his wife filed
for divorce at the most depressing moment of his life.
Jang-soo was diagnosed to have Alzheimer's disease but decided
to keep it to himself. Regaining his family's trust is far
more important than his health. And besides, he doesn't want
them to see the pain he is experiencing. But to no luck, regardless
of what he does, he can't seem to let So-young forgive him.
Although So-young became more successful in her career after
the divorce, she still misses Jang-soo. When an old flame
came back to her life, Jang-soo became more desperate to win
her over. But his memory keeps on messing up his chances.
As his condition worsens, his friend, Hyun-soo, tries to help
him cope up.

SPOILER ALERT :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
After So-young accidentally found out about Jang-soo's situation,
she accepted him back to their lives. But it was too late.
He is starting to forget things more often. Afraid not to
be remembered as a good person, he tries to use up his remaining
time to do everything he needs to do before he dies.
Hope came when Joon-ho found a research program abroad that
could help Jang-soo. When he was about to leave, So-young's
kidney problem came back and needs a transplant to live. Jang-soo
decided to give his despite knowing that he might not be able
to wake up after the procedure. In as much as he wanted to
get cured, he would rather risk it for So-young to live for
both of them.
So-young surpassed the surgery but Jang-soo didn't and was
sent off happily by his family as promised.
REVIEWS: It definitely
became one of my favorites. Since I started watching it, I
can't seem to stop bragging about it. I even recommended it
to some friends after just seeing the first three episodes.
At first , I thought it's a comedy. I almost lost interest
when I saw the actors. None of them are familiar and the Jang-soo
character looks like a joke to me. I thought, he is a little
bit overboard with his performance. But I judged it way too
early. I was wrong to think that it would be such a waste
because after a couple of more episodes, it became interesting.
The Choi family could definitely act. From the kids, who
are both adorable, to Yoo Oh-seong and Chae Si-ra, they all
gave unforgettable performances. They were so good that it
made the other ones less believable (although, I don't really
have any complaints in their acting). But whenever Jang-soo
is in the verge of losing his mind, it's a little bit exaggerated.
He looks scary with his eyes wide open (and crossed) and walks
like a drunk. Maybe, it's just the intensity of the emotion
called for the scene.
There are a lot of touching scenes that until now, when I
think of it, all I can say is "awwww". Even the
little things the kids say and does are very touching. The
most moving part is when Jang-soo was doing his videos. All
I can do is cry. Up to the last episode, I cried my eyes out.
I don't know if I'm crying because of the story or is it because
I will miss watching it.
I got fooled in the end. I thought it's too good to be true
that everything went out okay. But, not to be too tragic or
anything, when they end it the other way, it made it more
unforgettable.
