Hae Mosu's fate as the savior of the migrants has become
Jumong's inspiration to restore and unite old Cholbon. But
due to greed for power, Prince Taeso betrayed Puyo by conspiring
with Han to sabotage Jumong's mission. During his journey
to fulfill his dreams, not only did Jumong met trusted friends
but also, he was able to unfold secrets from the past.

he helps Hae Mosu free the migrants. But when Hae

long as Sulran's father would help him win his battle
against Jumong.
Jumong has everything I don't like in a series - long episodes,
violence and historical. But after hearing all those praises,
I was convinced that it's worth a try. No regrets, I really
enjoyed it - everything about it. It was very good all the
way. Thanks to this series, I get to like the Korean culture
although it took me awhile to memorize their names and the
places.
The story has a lot to offer. It talked about loyalty and
leadership to love and sacrifices. Though there are a lot
of situations to cover, there is nothing left hanging at the
end. Actually, the pace is neither too slow nor fast. And
the shifts of events are very timely.
There are a lot of touching scenes too. Everytime Jumong
pays respect by kneeling down (while the OST is being played),
it makes me want to cry. When one sacrifices his life, it
makes me sad. And when, after all the battles, they succeeded,
it makes me proud.
The acting is very impressive. From the main to the smallest
role, they all seemed to have given their best. Everyone had
enough screen time based on its importance to the story. There's
chemistry between Jumong and Sosuhno that's why, even if they
were apart half the time, I know that fate will lead them
back to each other's arm.
There maybe a lot of episodes but each scene are important.
If they play flashbacks, very seldom do they show the ones
you just seen.
Jumong Appeal
http://www.donga.com [ May 25, 2006 ]
Jumong recorded ratings of 25.3 percent (TNS Media Research)
for its fourth episode that aired on May 23, making it the
hottest drama right now. Its popularity can be accredited
to the actors excellent performances. Since the drama
is set in ancient times with rare archives, there are less
limitations to exploring imaginary plots.
Another factor in Jumongs favor is that the past trendy
dramas dealing with love triangles that were targeted at women
in their thirties to fifties were getting stale. Dramas in
the past concentrated on abnormal relationships, which failed
to draw other viewer segments.
Jumong, meanwhile, has a healthy mix of conflict and love.
Theres the love triangle between the Buyeo prince Geumwa
(Jeon Kwang-ryul) and Haemosu (Heo Jun-ho) over Yuhwa (Oh
Yeon-su), as well as the conflict between Jumong and Daeso
over the throne, and the independence movement to remove Hansagun.
The ratings for women in their thirties to fifties is 12 to
15.2 percent, and for the same age group in men: 10.2 to 11.4
percent, showing an even distribution. The love story between
Jumong and Soseono that is yet to come is expected to appeal
to young women who are attracted to tragic love.
