How could four different people end up crossing the same
path?
Hotel Seoul is facing the biggest financial problem in the
history of their operation. When President Cui died, Jin-young
convinced Tae-jun to come back and work as the hotel's general
manager. Even though not everybody in the management is open
to the idea, others still believed in his capabilities and
strategies. They thought that he is the answer to their prayers.
Bok-man, President Cui's business rival, has always had an
eye on Hotel Seoul. He hired Frank, a hotel-purchasing specialist
from Vegas, to go over with the transactions. On his way to
Korea, he met Jin-young which, coincidentally, works for the
hotel he will be working on. He stayed at Hotel Seoul to get
first hand information. As he works his way in, he became
closer to Jin-young. Not knowing Frank's motive, she fell
in love with him easily.
Every time Yun-hee, daughter of Bok-man, has some misfortunes,
Tae-jun always comes to the rescue. Impressed of his kindness,
she fell for him. She applied for work, through the help of
Rong-qi, to be closer to Tae-jun. She kept her relation to
Bok-man a secret so others won't treat her differently. But
her dad got furious when he found out. She was forced to quit
under the condition that the hotel staff would be released
from jail for the trouble they got into.
Frank continued his research on his project. His scheme was
revealed when a staff accidentally found evidence. Jin-young
decided to break up with him thinking that his feelings for
her were never true and that he used her for his work.
Because of Frank's deep feelings for Jin-young, he withdrew
his commitment to the project and tried to win her heart back.
He showed his sincerity when he helped Hotel Seoul get up
on its feet. Eventually, with the help of the staff led by
Tae-jun, the hotel became more stable.
Even though Rong-qi has always been there for Yun-hee, she
gets blinded by her love for Tae-jun. Seeing that the hotel
is his life, she would rather give up her dad's own freedom
just for his sake. The information she provided became their
best defense against Bok-man's illegal dealings.
After all the problems were settled, Frank continued proving
his good intentions to Jin-young. He planned to go back to
the US and would want to start a new life with her. Following
her heart, she accepted but she can't seem to leave her first
love, the hotel. After giving it some thought, she decided
to be with him but it was too late. Frank left broken hearted.
Jin-young didn't regret her decision of staying in Korea.
She loves the hotel and the staff so much. But if only she
could have both ends - her profession and her love - it would
be much better. This dream came about when Frank returned
to Korea to be with her.
In the end, everything worked out well. All four had settled
their differences and managed to work things out for the sake
of their passion, the hotel. Yun-hee went to Vegas to pursue
Hotel Management. Frank and Jin-young became more in love
than ever. And Tae-jun got his life back, Hotel Seoul.
It took me almost three months to finish this series. There's
something about the story that keeps me away from watching
it. The first two episodes were so boring and the rest were
simply dragging. Maybe because I don't have interest in hotel
management. But when they got into the climax, I got all hooked
up - after 12 mind-numbing episodes. Well, it's about time.
Why is that all of Song Hye-kyo's character always end up
with the same man I like too. Do we have the same fate with
men? I love Tae-jun' character. I don't blame Yun-hee for
going gaga over him. He is such an ideal man. He is so smart
even under pressure and has a kind heart.
I didn't like the hanging ending when Yun-hee was just staring
at the plane and smiled. Who did she end up with? Did Tae-jun
come with Rong-qi to Vegas? I would like it if she'll come
to her senses and choose Rong-qi instead. They look cuter
together. And besides, Rong-qi earned it.
On the other hand, I liked it when they decided to end the
love triangle favoring Frank and Jin-young. Based on the way
the story went, they deserve to be with each other. Besides,
it would look forced if she picks Tae-jun because from the
very beginning, their romance doesn't have any chemistry.
No spark at all.
This series have some good points but if you are looking for
fast-paced story, this ain't it.
The airing of the drama, which deals with the duties and
love affairs of hoteliers, in Qatar came as the ministry has
been making efforts to enhance South Korea's image in the
Islamic world after Seoul's dispatch of 3,600 troops to Iraq
as part of the U.S.-led coalition in the war-torn nation.
"We hope airing Hotelier will help introduce our culture
in Qatar and contribute to enhancing exchanges of broadcast
and culture between our country and Middle Eastern nations,"
the spokesman said.

[ YUN-HEE TO TAE-JUN ]
If you avoid the ball that is coming towards you, you will
never be able to score. In other words, if you avoid love
that is coming towards you, there's no need to be scared.
I have not thrown the ball to you yet.
JIN-YOUNG: Enough, enough. I
can't decide if you are Hotel Seoul's General Manager or Yun-hee's
bodyguard.
TAE-JUN: Or Yun-hee's personal
bodyguard? We just had a major incident here and all you can
think of is your big date? Just because you didn't get to
meet him, you...
JIN-YOUNG: Enough! It's over
now. Because I did not turn up, his feelings for me are probably
gone. Perhaps it's better for us this way. Perhaps we are
destined to end here. But I still can't stop thinking of him.
What? Don't look at me like this. I'm telling you all this
only because it's you. Nevertheless, Tae-jun, you are really
a good friend. You are the best thing that happened to me
at Hotel Seoul. I missed out on all my chances for love. All
I can do is sigh. I'm pitiful, am I not? Han Tae-jun, Shin
Dong-hyuk... I lost them both.
[ FRANK TO JIN-YOUNG ]
I have said this would be our last chance! Is it all I am
to you? Am I so unimportant that you can give up this last
chance for us to be together? I really thought we could at
least have a chance to talk things over calmly so that you
can hear my side of the story. I was waiting for you. But
you didn't appear. Even if I have lied to you before, could
you not trust me just this once? Am I so unworthy in your
eyes? Do you know what absolute trust is? Do you? "Believe
in the unbelievable" That is what absolute trust is.
Miss Jin-young, thank you for showing me your true self today.
[ TAE-JUN AND HOTEL SEOUL ]
Here is where I play, have fun, and grow. Here I set my goal
to be a Hotelier. Here I met the woman I thought I wanted
to go through life with. Here, this Hotel has more stories
and memories than my home. You can't imagine my ties to the
Hotel. I cannot allow my friends to be ruined. So, please
let them go. Please pardon the people I love and the people
who love me. Don't let misfortune befall them.
YUN-HEE: General Manager is almost
perfect. But he has a shortcoming. He does not know how to
accept help. You help others yet when it's your turn to need
help, you reject others who are willing to help you. Those
around you will be tired too. Ah, looks like both of us are
tired today. My Dad told me for the sake of the 10% happiness
in life, we have to spend 90% of the time working for it.
Adopt this attitude then.
TAE-JUN: He is right.
YUN-HEE: It'll be ideal if we
can swap the ratio.
TAE-JUN: Everyone lives this
way. For Hoteliers, even the last 10% is meant for the happiness
of others. Treat these as your own convictions. Just believe
that one day, all will come back, 10 times of what you have
given.
[ JIN-YOUNG ON LOVE ]
Can a woman be in love with two men? One makes me feel comfortable.
The other looks lonely and I have the urge to pull him into
my arms. Can't I be in love with both of them?
[ YUN-HEE ON THE HOTEL ]
I like this Hotel. It's like my home, a place where
I can relax. If I am chased away from here, it's like I'm
being left out on the streets. I'm scared of this feeling
of homelessness. There is nowhere else like here. There is
no warmer place than here, not school, not home. There is
really nowhere else like this place. The bully like Mi Hee,
Manager Yoo, Kind Jung Shik... I like to work with them all.
To joke with them that's how I pass each day at a time. This
routine has become an important part of my life. How can I
give it all up?
FRANK: I feel that Han Tae-jun
is wealthier than me. I envy him somehow. He has the things
that I've always wanted and he likes doing things for others
but doesn't know how to take care of himself.
JIN-YOUNG: As a result, many
people appear alongside him. I don't mean that you are alone,
all by yourself. Sorry.
FRANK: It's all right. You spoke
the truth. I hope to have someone to share with me.
TAE-JUN: Will you be happy?
JIN-YOUNG: With him? Although
I am not sure, it is what everyone looks forward to
when a couple meets and finds happiness. I don't know... about
the years to come but I know he needs me.
TAE-JUN: Will you or he really
attain happiness? All of us have the right to look for happiness.
If you find happiness with him, you should go to him. No matter
what others say, the most important person is yourself.
FRANK: Do you feel happy when
you are with Han Tae-jun?
JIN-YOUNG: We are only friends
now.
FRANK: I don't see it this way.
Tae-jun's shadow may have disappeared from your heart, but
your shadow is still in his.
JIN-YOUNG: No, I disagree.
FRANK: I know I am right. I have
conquered the river called "Hotel Seoul". I didn't
expect to meet a mountain called "Han Tae-jun".
However, the path I shall be taking has already been pre-destined.
[ THE PROPOSAL ]
I'm a direct man. I don't go around in circles. Nothing
is left if I take away the thoughts and feelings. I'll remember
your kindness. As I have said earlier, I have used all my
money to buy Hotel Seoul's shares. Due to various reasons,
I can't sell the shares now. So other than the one-month advanced
rental for Sapphire and a few suits, I have nothing much left
now. I have not even prepared our house for you. I am left
with practically nothing now. I have walked a long distance.
Finally, I am here, in front of you. Jin-young, I love you.
Please, marry me?
YUN-HEE: You sound as if this
is the first time you are setting eyes on me. We are meeting
today. I am leaving tomorrow. Is this the only way to leave
a lasting impression for each other? To like a person. To
love a person. Does time matter?
TAE-JUN: That varies among different
people.
YUN-HEE: If that is true love,
will it change even after a long time has passed?
TAE-JUN: That differs from one
person to another.
YUN-HEE: Everlasting love, Love
forever... Is there such a thing?
TAE-JUN: I have not conducted
such an experiment.
YUN-HEE: What is the love that
can't be realized?
TAE-JUN: Marriage?
YUN-HEE: Does marriage refer
to the completion of love?
TAE-JUN: It could be...
YUN-HEE: Then what is divorce?
TAE-JUN: It could be a wrong
marriage. If marriage is completion, then it shouldn't be
wrong.
YUN-HEE: Thus, marriage is not
completion. True love is. When you love a person, this is
completion. I can attain this.
[ FRANK'S FAREWELL LETTER ]
I just can't lose you. After I leave you, wherever I go and
whatever I do, I just can't lose you. Since I can't think
of this as the last time we see each other, I left without
saying good-bye. You showed someone who was lonely and tired
what warmth and caring is. So, I can't lose you.
FRANK: Are you waiting for me?
I am also waiting for you. May I check in now?
JIN-YOUNG: How long do you plan
to stay here?
FRANK: Forever I want to be by
your side forever.
